MBBR

MBBR technology uses thousands of polyethylene biofilm carriers operating in mixed motion in a blower-aerated wastewater treatment tank under PLC control. Each biocarrier acts as a carrier bed to support the growth and reproduction of heterotrophic and autotrophic bacteria in wastewater. This high-density bacterial population provides a high rate of biodegradation within the system while at the same time providing process reliability and ease of use.

Considering the operation and maintenance costs, MBBR is very efficient in terms of process selection. It is preferred in many different industrial applications and some of the advantages of the process are as follows.

Compact: MBBR is a great option for space-constrained facilities because it typically takes up much less space than other systems. MBBR aeration tank can effectively purify the same amount of water as a larger tank used for a more traditional process. In particular, it offers this advantage due to the maximum surface area the media provides for biofilm growth.

Simple: Another practical advantage of MBBR is that it is a relatively simple process. MBBR process allows the operator to get operating capability minimizing the role. The training given to Business Operators about the process by Ptech GmbH staff is important, so that they can ensure that everything works properly at the molecular level.

Less Maintenance: MBBR, also referred to as a process that requires less maintenance. Maintenance tasks such as backwash that an operator must perform in other processes are often unnecessary for the MBBR. This system is largely self-managed, so users can rely on it to function effectively without the need for demanding and constant maintenance.

Flexible: Since the microorganisms on the biocarrier respond to sudden changes, MBBR can adapt as required to changing loads and changes in its content. It allows MBBR systems to resist shock loading or a sudden rise in pH levels.

Efficient: One of the key advantages of MBBR is its impressive level of efficiency. MBBR system can work much faster to treat water than other alternative methods.
» It is an advantageous process for high flow rate. It is easy to increase capacity. This may be possible by increasing the filling degree of the carriers.
» MBBR is not affected by toxic shock.
» Independent process performance as there is no return line for sludge; MBBR eliminates recirculation, i.e. active sludge (RAS).
