Polyelectrolyte Preparation Unit

Polyelectrolytes are used in wastewater treatment plants to address blockages and to dewater the sludge. Anionic polyelectrolytes are used in filling units such as filter presses, decanters, belt presses, etc. Cationic polyelectrolytes are used in sludge dewatering equipments.

Anionic Polyelectrolytes: Are generally used as coagulant in chemical treatment. In the mining industry, they are being used to remove floatation wastes from the system.

Cationic Polyelectrolytes: These products are generally being used during dewatering of sludge formed as a result of wastewater treatment (with elements such as filter press or decanter). They help the sludge to dissolve more easily.a

The use of automatic polyelectrolyte preparation unit in continuous wastewater treatment plants is advantageous in terms of saving time and labor.

Operation Principle
- Powdered coagulants are placed in the dosing chamber and dosed into the first chamber. The polyelectrolyte in powder form dosed into the tank is mixed with the service water and a solution begins to form. The polyelectrolyte is dissolved in water using a single chamber and a single mixer, or by using multiple chambers and multiple mixers at various speeds.
  
  The solution is stored in the solution storage compartment. Polyelectrolytes are dosed with dosing pumps to the mixer on the line from the sludge condensation tank to the filterpress. All automation of polymer dosing systems is controlled from the electrical panel mounted on the unit.
