Pressurized Filters

Sand filter for capturing suspended solids (SS) in water are widely used in clean water supply, industrial water treatment and wastewater treatment. Sand filter used in water supply or industrial water treatment systems; prolongs the service and operating life of activated carbon filter and reverse osmosis systems. In wastewater treatment, it helps to prevent leakage of bacteria or suspended solids that may be present in the treated water

» Anthracite can also be added to sand filter, which work with the principle of passing water through filter, pressurized pumps, silica layers of different particle sizes (quartz) called multi-media.
» Quartz sand particles are filled into the filtration tank from large to small. If desired, anthracite can be added to the top of the filter. In this view, suspended solids, which are planned to be kept in water, accumulate on the surface of the sand environment and purified water is taken under the tank and purification is done.
» Solid materials suspended on the tank surface cause the sand filter to become clogged and the water filtration to be blocked over time. In this case, the filtration pumps are stopped and the backwash pumps start to operate. In this view, the solids accumulated on the surface are removed from the system. Before backwashing, the special valve structure of the sand filter should be adjusted according to the backwashing process.

Design Variations;

» Specially designed sand filtration valves can be used as automatic, manual (butterfly valve or ball valve) or 6-way valve.
» Automatic valves can be designed with pneumatic actuators or electric actuators. The automatic valve system is designed with time or pressure adjustment.
» Sand filter tanks can be produced optionally as carbon steel, stainless steel, PE, PP or FRP (fiber).
» Sand filters manufactured by Coşkun Arıtım are designed and produced to withstand pressure up to 12 bar.
» The speed in the sand filter should be designed and projected as 2-8 m3/h.m2.
